The opening ceremony of Fujitsu’s new project, Fujitsu Greenhouse Technology Finland Oy, was held on November 17th with the attendance of Ambassador Yamamoto. The new company will apply Fujitsu’s agricultural ICT technology to grow leafy vegetables throughout the year with fully automated facilities in cooperation with Robbes Little Garden. The farm will be located in Lindkoski in southern Finland. This will enable the supply of green vegetables during the harsh winters. Once it is successful, it can be applied to other Nordic countries and beyond.
Mr. Markus Suomi, President and CEO of Finpro also attended the ceremony. Ambassador Yamamoto delivered a speech to welcome the new project, which is directly linked to building a Digital-Ecosystem and is a concrete example of the “Base Camp” concept of Japan-Finland economic relations in action.
