This year, the Japanese Government will invite two university students from Finland to participate in the MIRAI (meaning ‘Future’ in Japanese) Program. One student will be chosen for the program taking place in November 2018 (“Group 1”) and one student for the program taking place in in January 2019 (“Group 3”).
This program is fully supported by the Japanese Government to (I) promote mutual-understanding, (II) promote a global understanding of Japan’s economy, society, history, diverse culture, politics and foreign policy and (III) disseminate information on Japan’s attractions through communication devices including SNS. It is a short-term youth exchange program to specially invite graduate/undergraduate students from Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus who study Politics, Economics, International Relations, Asian Studies, Japan Studies or other related fields. By doing so the program aims to foster a solid foundation for the relationship between Japan and countries in the aforementioned regions in the future.
