MIRAI Program 2017 (Application deadline: 13 October 2017)

This year, the Japanese Government will invite one university student from Finland to participate in the MIRAI (meaning ‘Future’ in Japanese) Program. This program is fully supported by the Japanese Government to (I) promote mutual-understanding, (II) promote a global understanding of Japan’s economy, society, history, diverse culture, politics and foreign policy and (III) disseminate information on Japan’s attractions through communication devices including SNS. It is a short-term youth exchange program to specially invite 166 graduate/undergraduate students from Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus who study Politics, Economics, International Relations, Asian Studies, Japan Studies or other related fields. By doing so the program aims to foster a solid foundation for the relationship between Japan and countries in the aforementioned regions in the future.

Application period: 2-13 October, 2017
 
If you are interested in applying, please read the Outline
and Pre-Departure Preparation carefully and fill out the online application form. Besides, please send the following required documents to the Embassy of Japan in Helsinki by post or e-mail (culture@hk.mofa.go.jp)  with “MIRAI Program 2017 (your name)” in the subject line).

 (1) Photocopy of the Applicant’s passport 
 (2) Essay - Personal Statement  
 (3) Photocopy of certification of the Applicant’s latest academic grade
