Ceremony of presenting certificate of Ambassador’s commendation to Rajamäki Upper Secondary School (IPPO Project)

On 9 November, “Nippon – forward together” seminar was held at the National Agency for Education. This seminar was organized by the IPPO Project in cooperation by the National Agency for Education. From the Embassy, Ambassador Yamamoto participated in the seminar (Link to Ambassador’s speech).
 
IPPO Project was launched by Rajamäki Upper Secondary School in 2012 with the support by the Government of Finland. The Project is to promote Japanese language education in comprehensive and upper secondary schools in Finland. This seminar was conducted on the occasion of the completion of the Project after it started six years ago. Through the Project, a network of comprehensive and upper secondary schools and Japanese language teachers was developed. Especially, the Project contributed to promote and develop the Japanese language education in Finland by introducing Japanese language as a selective foreign language at upper secondary schools.
 
Ambassador Yamamoto presented the certificate of his commendation to Rajamäki Upper Secondary School for their contribution to mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Finland through their promotion of Japanese language education.
