When you have any inquiries, please refer to “Frequent inquiries and questions” in the aforementioned page and contact by Contact Form or Telephone.
All travelers including Japanese nationals entering Japan must submit a completed questionnaire, and a vaccination certificate or a negative COVID-19 test result.
1. VALID VACCINATION CERTIFICATE OF COVID-19
If you have valid vaccination certificate certifying third dose vaccination, you are not required to show negative covid-19 test certificate.
You can find the criteria of the vaccination certificate here.
Note 1: Children under the age of 18 are NOT required a valid vaccination certificate, if they are accompanied by a guardian (who supervises the children) with a valid vaccination certificate.
Note 2: The quarantine authority does NOT count one past COVID-19 contraction as one vaccination shot. For example, if you had two vaccination shots and contracted COVID-19 once, it is counted TWO shots, not three shots.

2. NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST RESULT
- All travelers including Japanese nationals who don’t have aforementioned vaccination certificate have to submit a Certificate of Negative Test Result conducted within 72 hours (from the sampling time to departure time of the flight) when entering Japan.
- You can use the prescribed format or an arbitrary format. For using arbitrary format, the following conditions must be included in the certificate.
- (1) Name, Date of birth
- (2) Testing method for COVID-19, Sample
- (3) Result, Specimen collection date and time, Date of issue
- (4) Name of medical institution
- There have been reported some cases of rejection of boarding due to incomplete documents: lack of test date, test methods, etc. Showing the Requirements for Dertificate of Testing for Entering Japan to staff of medical institution could reduce such troubles.
