This category is for those who will go to Japan for sightseeing, or visiting relatives and friends. Eligibility and required documents depend on the nationality of the applicant.

Following nationals are eligible to apply for this visa;
China
Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia
Ukraine
Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam
India
Pacific Islands (Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu)

Note:

(1) On applying for visa, you must read “HOW TO APPLY” carefully.
(2) During the visa process, the applicant may be requested to submit additional documents deemed necessary.
(3) You must prepare all documents in A4 size and bring physical visa application documents and do not staple documents.
(4) The duration of the issued document should be within 3 months from the date of issue, and be submitted within its validity period.
(5) All documents submitted should be original documents. If you need to keep any of the original documents, please bring the original plus a copy.

China: applicants for tourist visa with a substantially high income or a sufficient level of financial capability

Eligibility

1. Those who have a substantially high income or a sufficient level of financial capability.
2. Family members of the applicant (1) (A linear relative in the first and second degree and brothers and sisters (either by blood or in-law) in the same household.

The applicant must have either:
(1) Traveled Japan at least once in the last 3 years for short term visit.The applicant must be able to cover travel expense.
（2）A regular employee with a sufficient level of finance capability.

In addition, spouse and child of the applicant are eligible for this category.

Persons that intend to stay within 30 days, have an ordinary MRP/e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard and fulfils one of 3 conditions below:
（1）has a travel record as temporary visitor to Japan in the last 3 years and has financial capacity to pay the travel expense
（2）has a travel record as temporary visitor to Japan and several travel records as temporary visitor to G7 countries (except Japan) in the last 3 years
（3）has sufficient financial capacity

In addition, spouse and child of the applicant are eligible for this category

Pacific Islanders above that have ordinary MRP/e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard and fulfil one of 2 conditions below:
（1）has travel records as temporary visitor to Japan once or more in the last 3 years (Travel records as “fishery observer on purse seine fishing vessels” and “fishery observer on longline fishing vessels” are excluded from this category)
（2）has sufficient financial capacity

In addition, spouse and child of the applicant (2) are eligible for this category.
