Multiple Visa for Spouse and Child of Japanese Citizen

A spouse and child of a Japanese citizen can apply for multiple visa for a short term stay within 90 days, valid for 1 year. If applicant has obtained this visa in the past, visa which is valid for 3 years may be approved.


Note:

(1) On applying for visa, you must read “HOW TO APPLY” carefully.
(2) During the visa process, the applicant may be requested to submit additional documents deemed necessary.
(3) You must prepare all documents in A4 size and bring physical visa application documents and do not staple documents.
(4) The duration of the issued document should be within 3 months from the date of issue, and be submitted within its validity period.
(5) All documents submitted should be original documents. If you need to keep any of the original documents, please bring the original plus a copy.

 

Conditions

Spouse of Japanese Citizen

(1) has been legally in marital relations with a Japanese citizen who has lived in Finland for longer than 6 months.
(2) has lived together with the Japanese spouse for longer than 1 year.
(3) has visited Japan at least once.

Child of Japanese Citizen

  (1)  whose Japanese parent has lived in Finland for longer than 6 months (Child by a previous marriage of non-Japanese parent not eligible)
  (2)  has visited Japan at least once.

 

Required Documents

Documents to be prepared by the APPLICANT

(1)  Valid passport
          Should have at least 2 blank pages for visa
(2)  A copy of valid passport
          Only
Bio-date page (printed on A4 paper)
(3)  Residence permit issued by MIGRI (except EU nationals). 
          Note: If your residence permit is expiring/has been expired, please submit a copy of the certificate "Vireilläolotodistus" issued by MIGRI after you have submitted an application for extending your residence permit.
(4)  A copy of residence permit (except EU nationals)
          Both sides (printed on A4 paper)
(5)  Application Form
          Applicants who have passports issued by Russia, CIS countries and Georgia need to submit 2 application forms.
          If there is any omission in the description, it will be not accepted
          The applicant must sign by him/herself. The electrical signature isn’t acceptable.
(6)   Photograph
          4.5cm×3.5cm, taken within last 6 months.
          The photograph should meet the standard of passport photo and be printed on photo paper. 
          Applicants who have passports issued by Russia, CIS countries and Georgia need to submit 2 photographs.

(7) Document to certify living together with the Japanese spouse/parent
       
  Residence Certificate issued by Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV)
(8) A Statement about why the applicant applies for a multiple visa

 

Documents to be prepared by the JAPANESE SPOUSE/PARENT

(1)  A Copy of the Japanese Passport (printed on A4 paper)

   Pages stamped by the country of living

A copy of residence permit (except EU nationals)
        Both sides (printed on A4 paper)

Document to certify living together with the applicant 
        Residence Certificate issued by Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV)
(4)  A Copy of the Family Register (Koseki-tohon) issued within 3 months
    A Finnish Birth Certificate also acceptable if the Japanese parent prepares. 
(5)  Document to be prepared by the main earner
    A balance of the bank account (the latest 3 months)
